WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK!!

The first week of school went off without a hitch. Thank you to the entire Elizabeth Ide staff for all of their hard work and support this week; to the parents for your patience and understanding; and to our students for being so good. You are wonderful!!! Also, thank you to Pam Mazurek and all of the bus drivers for helping our dismissal proceed so smoothly.

I hope you all have a terrific and relaxing Labor Day weekend.

ANOTHER GREAT DAY!!!!

The kids enjoyed another beautiful day on the playground. It's wonderful to see how much fun they are having on the new equipment.

Thank you for your cooperation during our afternoon dismissal. It is going along well and will only get better as the weeks progress.

Today I was able to read to three classrooms. I read Eggbert, The Slightly Cracked Egg and Unlovable. Both stories teach kids about feeling good about themselves, as well as accepting differences in others. I will be visiting all the classrooms by the end of the month.

Thank you again for another great day!

THE SCHOOL YEAR HAS STARTED

Our first day of school went very smoothly!!! The children learned the playground rules from Mr. Kukulski our new gym teacher and began playing on the new playground today after our ribbon cutting ceremony. We had a great turn-out for the ceremony and pictures are on the district website.
Our dismissal procedure has changed for children being picked-up at the end of the day. Every time a student is going to be picked up from school, they need to bring a dated note signed by a parent stating that he/she is going to be picked up on that day. Children being picked-up will be held in the school library until the buses leave at 3:40. When the buses are clear, students will be brought to the lobby of the school to meet their parents.
Thank you all for a wonderful beginning to the school year and I'm looking forward to the rest of the year!!!

WELCOME NEW TEACHERS

This week we welcomed our new teachers at the New Teacher Institute days. They were introduced to the many facets of our district and even had a guided bus tour hosted by Dr. Tiede. Next Thursday and Friday our veteran teachers return and our Open House takes place on Monday, August 27th from 9:00 - 11:00. This is an opportunity for students to visit their classrooms and meet their teachers. Hope to see many of you there.

For those of you who have not registered yet, late registration will take place Tuesday, August 21st from 8:00 - Noon at Prairieview.

Also, the Ide dismissal procedure has been changed for this year. Parents picking up students will need to do so after the buses leave. The new pick-up time will be 3:40.

Have a wonderful weekend!

AUGUST IS HERE!!!

I can't believe school starts in just 19 days!!! The countdown has begun. Since Whole Foods will not be able to spread our playground mulch on Saturday, we have hired landscapers to do it next week. To those of you who volunteered thank you very much, but with the heat and no machinery the task would have been daunting. Many teachers have begun working on their rooms, the building looks wonderful and is just about ready for our students to return. So enjoy these last few weeks and we will see you very soon!
