I hope you and your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This is the time of year where caring, giving and good will fill the air. Will I witness that today as I head out to enjoy some shopping on Black Friday? Or will I see people wrestling for the last $19.99 cashmere sweater on the shelf? Black Friday is a term that was coined in the 1970s and refers to the first shopping day of the holiday season. Black Friday was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).
